Frequently asked questions
- Why is the PNG option disabled?
- PNG uses lossless compression, so there is no quality setting to search over. Convert to JPG or WebP first if you need a specific file size.
- What happens if my target size cannot be reached?
- The tool reports that the target could not be reached in this format and shows the smallest result it was able to produce instead.
- Why did nothing change if my file was already small?
- If the original is already under the target size, it is kept as-is. Re-encoding an already-small file can sometimes make it larger, not smaller.
