Frequently asked questions
- How do I get a photo under a size limit?
- Reduce the dimensions first, then lower the quality. Halving the width and height usually cuts the file to roughly a quarter, which is a larger saving than quality alone.
- What's the difference between cover and contain?
- Cover crops the overflowing edges so the output fills the target size completely. Contain keeps the whole image and adds padding instead, so nothing is cropped.
- Does resizing strip metadata?
- Re-encoding produces a new file without the original EXIF block. If removing metadata is the goal, use the EXIF remover, which is built for exactly that.
